Year 6: SATS

Year 6 Parents

Year 6 pupils sit national curriculum tests at the end of Key Stage 2 known as SATs.

At St John's we see SATs as a 'point in time within Year 6' not 'the point of Year 6'. This is crucial. We will support the children to be able to access the tests but we do not sacrifice a wide and meaningful education in Year 6 to prep them for the tests. We want to prepare them for Year 7 and beyond; achieving good SATs results will come as a by-product of that commitment to an excellent education.

The Year 6 teaching team are in touch with Year 6 parents in the Spring Term to explain how the SATs work and how you can support your children during that time.
