Sir Vince Cable Visits our School Council

Following on from the Year 6 trips to the Houses of Parliament in the Autumn term, The School Council widened their knowledge and understanding of politics when Sir Vince Cable visited St. John's. The children had the opportunity to put questions to him in an interesting Q and A session on politics.

Sir Vince also took questions on his interests before politics; the pupils found a connection between his early acting in drama classes and his later ability to talk confidently in public, helping him to engage effectively in important debate. This confirms the value of wider opportunites in school, St John's pupils often return to tell us how they have succeded in their English and Drama GCSE's and A-Levels due to the confidence they have gained in drama.
