Year 4 14 February
In Maths this week we have learnt and practised short division of two digit numbers, including with remainders. However, we’ve seen that often we can use our times table knowledge to help us solve division questions mentally.
We used bullet points in English to write a fact sheet about some of the key people and places in Oliver and the Seawigs. The children tried hard in the reading comprehension and grammar tests we completed.
We finished our Prehistoric Britain topic with a summary of the key things we had learnt and a discussion on why the Roman invasion of Britain ended the prehistoric period. We have enjoyed watching these BBC History clips - the children might like to show them to you.
4P had a great time at Turner’s House on Tuesday - we will be working with their education team again in the summer term on an art project. 4C will go on Tuesday 25 February.
There will be more art in the week after half-term with artists coming into school to work with each class: that is why we have asked for art shirts to be sent in. 4C will go first on Monday 24 February and 4P will have their turn on the Wednesday. If you haven’t already done so, please send your child in with something they can wear over their uniform as they will be using paint that won’t wash off.
We hope you have a lovely half-term.
