Year 3 BLOG 28th Feb 2020
What a fantastic first week back at school for Year 3!
We all enjoyed a relaxing start to the week as we took part in the whole school art project. Each child and adult in the school was able to decorate an MDF disc to form a piece of collaborative artwork which now features at the front of our school. Do come and have a look if you haven't already!
3GP had a wonderful start to their swimming lessons on Tuesday. We were so impressed with their behaviour and attitude and thought they were all a real credit to the school. 3F put on a brilliant class assembly on Friday morning with all the school and many parents coming to watch.
3F also had the opportunity to create the most wonderful felt pictures inspired by Mark Rothko. 3GP will have their turn next week!
Our new Big Picture topic has begun this week, The Ancient Egyptians! Watch out for news about Ancient Egyptian day coming soon (hopefully towards the end of March).
Remember, next Thursday 5th March, is World Book Day! All children are encouraged to dress up as a character from any book they like. We are looking forward to welcoming parents here at 2.30pm for a quick chat followed by time to visit your children in their classrooms and explore all of the exciting book corners around the school. All of Year 3 are really looking forward to showing you around the dens they will be building too!
There were nearly tears when Mrs Goddard had to break the new to Mrs P that there had been a terrible accident with the Amaryllis (hint: this word is the same as your spelling pattern)! Fortunately, Mrs P always keeps a spare which is now growing again in the classroom.
Have a good weekend,
The Year 3 Team
